Insulated Fluekits
All imported closed-system / slow-combustion fireplaces should be installed using an insulated fluekit. These imported fireplaces radiate a tremendous amount of heat through the flue, if not insulated. This WILL lead to the drying out of the rafters and beams in your roof, which may eventually lead to spontaneous combustion - in other words, it can burn down your house. As there are currently no laws governing the installations of imported fireplaces in South Africa, a lot of companies are still selling plain /single-wall / un-insulated flues to customers who rely on the salesman's supposed superior knowledge. Also beware of companies supplying you with stainless flues, but in fact use galvanized inner flues. As the inner flue takes the brunt of the heat, it really does not make sense to supply inner flues made from inferior materials.
At Thermo we follow the European standards of installation, and only manufacture stainless steel double-walled insulated fluekits that are guarenteed to not cause a fire. Our insulation is non-flammable and is certified up to 600º Celsius, with a melting point of >1000ºC, making it the best insulation on the market, and even used in boilers and on ships. We can therefor give a 5 YEAR WARRANTY on all 304 and 316 stainless fluekits, PROVIDED it is installed by an installer and not your builder. The 430 fluekits only carry a 1 year warranty and should not be installed in the corosive air of the Atlantic Seaboard.
We supply 5 standard size flue kits: (internal diameter) 125 dia, 150 (152) dia, 180 dia, 200 dia and 250 dia. This fits most imported slow-combustion fireplaces. However, we also custom-make other sizes where needed. We also carry a range of adaptors/reducers for those non-standard sizes, i.e. 130 dia, 134 dia, 174 dia.
Choose between 3 different grades of stainless - 430, 304 or 316.
430 Stainless steel is a magnetic stainless that has a shiny mirror-like look, while 304 & 316 Stainless has the "classic" stainless look and is non-magnetic. Known by most people as the true stainless steel, 304 and 316 are the grades we suggest to use if you are living close to the ocean's corrosive sea-air. To that effect, our endcaps are all spun from 316 stainless steel.
Also available to complete your installation, are bends - standard and insulated, T-Pieces, Ceiling plates, cowls and brackets manufactured in the same grades of stainless steel as your flues.

304 vs 430
316 and 304 stainless, on the left, has a more contemporary stainless look while 430, featured on the right, has a polished appearance which compliments the ultra modern home. Flues can also be sprayed black if the truly traditional look appeals to you. -
Endcap Flues
Endcap flues are insulated flues, with the added endcap, that neatens the transition between single and double wall insulated flues. All our endcaps are manufactured using 316 stainless steel. We will never supply the inner flue in a lower grade of stainless than the outer flue. -
Insulated flues
Similar to the endcap flues, this flue fits right at the top of a standard installation. All insulated flues has our heat resistant and non-flammable insulation. Our flues are crimped and therefor stackable and does not require extra clamps.

Bends
We manufacture 45º and 90º bends in all grades of stainless - to fit your standard fluekit. Manufactured using 0.9mm steel, this is 80% thicker than similar imported bends. Also available in double insulated and non-standard angles. -
T-Pieces
Also manufactured in all sizes and grades of stainless steel. The standard and 45º T-Pieces come complete with a bowl for collection of condensation. The T-Piece is especially convenient in making sweeping the chimney a breeze. -
Ceiling Plates
We carry stock of all ceiling plates to fit our fluekits - both plain and insulated. We also stock as standard 30º and 45º ceiling plates. We can easily lasercut custom make ceiling plates at any degree. Available in all grades of stainless steel. -
Cyclone & Turbo Cowls
We manufacture Cyclone and Turbo cowls in all sizes and all grades to fit our fluekits. We have found that the cyclone cowl is the cowl that performs best on closed-combustion stoves in all wind conditions.

Y-Piece
YES, some of us has OCD. This Y-Piece balances the look where a bend to the side is neccessary due to restrictions such as a roof or concrete beam. Taken only through the ceiling and into the roof cavity, the "extra" leg is blocked off to keep smoke from entering. -
Damper Kit
Although most imported fireplaces come complete with its own internal dampers some fireplaces, for instance the Earthfire Firepot, can be kitted out with a damper kit to stop down-draughts when the unit is not in use. Can be retro-fitted. -
Aquarius Roofseal
With our range of roofseals, even the novice, or your bulder, can do a professional job - although we strongly advise against it. The Aquarius range of seals are designed to mold to any shape of roofsheeting.

Versatile Roofseal
The Versatile roofseal is designed to fit all tiled roofs, with a wide aluminium skirt to assist waterproofing. Available in a large range of sizes. It is always best to use a professional installer that will know all the dangers around incorrect installations.
Flues and Bends for Braais and open Fireplaces
Most of our flues are manufactured round, in many standard diameters, but can also be ordered in custom sizes. Standard available in cold-rolled, electro-galvanized, pre-galvanized, hot-dipped galvanized, 430, 304 & 316 stainless steel.
