Freestanding Fireplaces
At Thermo Fires we design and manufacture a large range of freestanding fireplaces, whether you want a wal- standing fireplace, a corner unit or a room divider / double-sided fireplace.
We are Cape Town-based, manufacturing all things braai and fireplace related. With over 26 years experience, we manufacture an extensive range of the highest quality, using only the best available material. Established in 2003, as proof of our pride and belief in our products, we are the only company to give a 20years warranty against faulty workmanship. We sell to wholesalers, as well as to the public from the showroom next to our factory.
A feature of all Thermo fireplaces are that all standard wood-burning grate baskets has a loose replaceable grid. This makes it much cheaper when replacement becomes neccessary. With the choice of adding a glass door/s, your fireplace will burn more efficiently, using much less wood while radiating more heat into your room.

We have changed the look of our glass doors. You can now choose the door cut-out pattern to suit your taste and aesthetic.
Wall-standing Units
Our range of SLIMLINE and CORNER units include built-in convection channels, giving you the same 2-way heating system as our build-in fireplaces, but with the ease of installation of a freestanding fireplace.
It will add to the ambiance of your room, while making your home cosy enough to curl up with a magazine. All slimlines are available with either a firescreen, or a glass door. The glass door turns the unit into a slow-burning unit which uses less wood and radiates more heat. Remember, you can now choose your unique design!
The smaller units are supplied with a single door, but with larger units you have a choice of a single or double doors. All doors has integrated air-vents, for control over the fire. Because of this, these units give off an incredible amount of heat, and our package for units with a glass door include a 3.6 m 430 stainless steel insulated fluekit (see below). These insulated flues are double-walled and insulated with rockwool that is non-flammable and can withstand temperatures up to 1000ºC.

The Half-Hexagon (flat-back) range is arguable the most recognizable and also our most cost effective range. Also available as a full hexagon. Optional extras include a firescreen.

Corner Units
Thermo now has 3 ranges of freestanding fireplace corner units.
The Slimline Corner Units are unique to Thermo - designed by us to fit snug into that 'dead' unused corner. It radiates the heat at 90 degrees into the whole room. It also has built-in convection, giving you the same 2-way heating system, and also comes complete with the firescreen - but with the option of paying up for a glass door. Available in 5 standard sizes: 600 mm, 700 mm, 800 mm, 1000 mm and 1200 mm
The Glass Corner Units differ in that it does not have incorporates convection channels on the sides, but instead the shape here sports glasspanels to the sides of the door, giving you a larger view of the flames. Available in 4 standard sizes: 600 mm, 800 mm, 1000 mm and 1200 mm
The Blaze-4 is a corner unit, unlike our other corner units. This unit in available in either a righthand or lefthand unit. With a glass door in front, and a glass panel on the one side, this fireplace will make a statement in any corner. Available in 3 standard sizes: 600 mm, 800 mm, 1000 mm, as well as bespoke.
A Glass Corner Unit makes a very nice feature in that under-utilized corner

Double-sided Slimline Units
The Double-sided Slimline range was designed to use as a room divider between different entertainment or living areas. It can even be used in an open-plan bedroom / dressing room / bathroom area.
With the built-in convection channels on the sides, this not only pushes out more heat, but also makes the outer of the fireplace cooler in case someone accidentally brushes up against the unit.

Octagon Fireplaces
The Octagon Fireplace is an 8-sided unit with glass panels on 7 sides and a glass door on the 8th. Perfect as a room divider, the flames can be viewed from 360 degrees, radiating heat in as much degrees.

The BLAZE range of fireplaces
Our Blaze range is not only the newest range to our Freestanding Range but will soon be available in a range of Built-in Fireplaces. The linear grate basket mirrors the shape of the fireplace itself, giving the unit a very minimilist look.
The Blaze-1 has doors on 2 sides, with glass on the other. Perfect as a room divider, or a centrepiece. The base incorporates a wood storage centre.
The Blaze-2 is a wall-standing unit, with a glass door in front, and glass panels on the sides - giving the perfect view of the flames from all sides.
The Blaze-4 is a corner unit, unlike our other corner units. This unit in available in a righthand or lefthand unit. With a glass door in front, and a glass panel on the one side, this fireplace will make a statement in any corner.
