At Thermo Fires we design and manufacture a large range of freestanding fireplaces, whether you want a wall-standing fireplace, a corner unit or a room divider / double-sided fireplace.

We are Cape Town-based, manufacturing all things braai and fireplace related. With over 30 years experience, we manufacture an extensive range of the highest quality, using only the best available material. Established in 2003, as proof of our pride and belief in our products, we are the only company to give a 20 years warranty against faulty workmanship. We sell to wholesalers, as well as to the public from the showroom next to our factory.

A feature of all Thermo fireplaces are that all standard wood-burning grate baskets has a loose replaceable grid. This makes it much cheaper when replacement becomes neccessary. With the choice of adding a glass door/s, your fireplace will burn more efficiently, using much less wood while radiating more heat into your room.

Wall-standing Units

Thermo now has 3 ranges of Wall-Standing freestanding fireplaces.
Our Slimline Wall-Standing Unit is unique to Thermo - designed by us to give you the most bang for your buck. It has built-in convection channels, giving you the same 2-way heating system as our built-in fireplaces, and comes complete with a firescreen, with the option of paying up for a glass door. By adding a glass door, this unit turns into a Slow Combustion unit that puts out a lot more heat, while saving money by burning up less wood. So much so, that all units with glass doors are supplied with a 3.6m 430 stainless steel Insulated Fluekit. These units comes standard with wood storage underneath. Available in 5 standard sizes: 600 mm, 700 mm, 800 mm, 1000 mm and 1200 mm.
The Blaze-2 (part of our larger Blaze range) has glass on 3 sides, giving you a 180° view of the flames. With a glass door in front, and glass panels on the sides, this fireplace will make a statement in any home. These units also come standard with wood storage underneath. Available in 3 standard sizes: 600 mm, 800 mm and 1000 mm, as well as bespoke.
Our Glass Flatback units differ in that it does not incorporate convection channels, but instead the shape here sports glass panels at a 45° angle to the door, giving you an almost 180° view of the flames. Available in 3 standard sizes: 600 mm, 800 mm and 1000 mm.

Any of these units will add to the value of your home and the ambiance of your room, making it cosy enough to curl up with a magazine.
Remember, you can now choose your unique design for the glass door of any Slimline Wall-Standing or Corner Unit! Smaller units are supplied with a single door (when a door is ordered), but with larger units you have a choice of a single or double doors. All doors has integrated air-vents, for control over the fire. Because of this, these units give off an incredible amount of heat, and therefor our package for units with a glass door includes a 3.6 m 430 stainless steel insulated fluekit (see photo below). These insulated flues are double-walled and insulated with rockwool that is non-flammable and can withstand temperatures up to 1000ºC, to give you peace of mind that your home is safe.

2, 4 and 8-sided Units

Our Double-sided Slimline range was designed to position as a room divider between different entertainment or living areas. It can even be used in an open-plan bedroom / dressing room / bathroom area. With the built-in convection channels built into the double-skin sides, this not only pushes out more heat, but also makes the outer "skin" of the fireplace cooler in case someone accidentally brushes up against the unit.

Available in 5 standard sizes: 600 mm, 700 mm, 800 mm, 1000 mm and 1200 mm.

Octagon Fireplaces

The Octagon Fireplace is an 8-sided freestanding fireplace with glass panels on 6 sides and glass doors on 2 opposite panels. Perfect as a room divider, the flames can be viewed from 360°, radiating heat in as many degrees.

Available in 4 standard sizes: 600 mm, 800 mm, 1000 mm and 1200 mm.

Octagon Fireplaces are available in 3 standard sizes: 600mm, 800 mm & 1000 mm. May be ordered in mildsteel, 3CR12 or stainless steel, in standard or bespoke sizes.

The BLAZE-1 Range

Our Blaze-1 range is not only the newest range to our Freestanding Range but will soon be available in a range of Built-in Fireplaces. The linear grate basket mirrors the shape of the fireplace itself, giving the unit a very minimilist look.
The Blaze-1 has doors on 2 sides, with glass on the other. Perfect as a room divider, or a centrepiece. The base incorporates a wood storage centre.

The range is available in mildsteel, 3CR12 or stainless steel, in standard or bespoke sizes. This fireplace is very popular not only in tea rooms and restaurants, but as room dividers in a great room.
